Where the Westside Is

The Westside runs along the mesa west of the river, from around I-40 north to the Rio Rancho line. Coors Boulevard and Unser Boulevard run north-south, and Paseo del Norte, Montaño Road and Alameda Boulevard cross the river to the east side. The Southwest MLS covers it in several areas, including Northwest Heights (area 110), Ladera Heights (111), Paradise West (120) and Paradise East (121).

Petroglyph National Monument

The Westside wraps around Petroglyph National Monument, created in 1990 and managed jointly by the National Park Service and the City of Albuquerque. The monument covers about 7,200 acres along the West Mesa escarpment and includes five volcanic cones, with trails at Boca Negra, Piedras Marcadas and Rinconada canyons and in the volcanoes area.
